About ME

I'm Abbi Hunt,

Proud wife of an Army veteran, mother of three, community volunteer and neighborhood runner. Kaysville has truly become my hometown. It’s the place where I want to raise my children, and the kind of place I think every child deserves to grow up in. Kaysville is growing, my children, and many, many others will one day need housing, places to work, all things that Kaysville residents now enjoy. As a member of the Kaysville City Council, I will help prepare Kaysville for that future.

Community service is important to me. I serve on the Community Council at my children’s school, volunteer with the PTA, and am a member of the Kaysville City Planning Commission. I’ve gained valuable insights from my service and have a greater appreciation of our community and its values. I share many of the same goals as the families, neighborhoods and businesses that call Kaysville home. For all of us to be successful, local government must be responsive, and proactive. I am excited to run for Kaysville City Council to address future challenges, increase opportunities for our children, and give Kaysville a favorable trajectory for the future.

Qualifications

  • Kaysville Planning Commission Vice-Chair: I have been on the planning commission for two years. I started as an alternate and was recently elected Vice-Chair. I am passionate about planning for Kaysville’s future! On the city council I will leverage the knowledge I have gained in municipal planning to help Kaysville grow responsibly.
  • School Community Council Chair: I volunteer with my daughter’s school community council. Last year I was the vice-chair, and this year I was recently elected to be the chair.  In this position I have gained experience working within a budget and making adjustments to most efficiently use the funds allocated to our school.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education from BYU: The desire to help in the community has always been a big part of who I am. That’s why I went into education.
